The wedding dress Princess Diana wore during her wedding with Prince Charles will soon be displayed in her former home… from June 3 to January 2, the iconic gown will feature in ‘Royal Style in the Making,’ a Kensington Palace exhibit which explores the fine art of designing for royalty, according to the palace website.

The wedding gown which was designed by Elizabeth and David Emanuel, which was used during Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ 1981 wedding boasts the longest train in royal history, featuring 25 feet of glittering sequins.
Displaying the gown will be the first time it’s been displayed publicly at Kensington Palace since 1995.
Prince William and Prince Harry, jointly agreed to release the dress to Historic Royal Palaces for the exhibit, where it will be displayed alongside a working pattern for the Queen Mother’s 1937 coronation gown.
While Kristen Stewart is presently embodying Diana’s sense of style for the forth coming film “Spencer,” the movie doesn’t look like it will feature the iconic gown.
Dwelling on the relationship between designers and the monarchy, the palace’s display will also include sketches, fabric swatches and unusual images from the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection.
While the exhibition features designs that have been worn by three generations of royal women, all of the pieces once helped shape the public image of the British monarchy and propelled the British fashion industry onto the global stage.

The exhibition will take place in the Kensington Gardens’ Orangery, which was built in the early 1700s and recently refurbished.
