British Prince Harry disclosed that he and his wife Meghan Markle once secretly met up at a grocery store in 2016 … when their relationship was still coming up.
“The first time that Meghan and I met up for her to come and stay with me, we met up in a supermarket in London, pretending that we didn’t know each other,” the Duke of Sussex, revealed on Thursday’s episode of Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast.
“We’re texting each other from the other side of the aisle. There are people looking at me, giving me all these weird looks and coming up and saying ‘hi’ and whatever,” he continued.
Prince Harry said he remembered wearing a baseball cap and “looking down at the floor” while “trying to stay incognito” as he and Meghan shopped some feet away from each other on that day.
“I texted her saying, ‘Is this the right one?’ She goes, ‘No, you want parchment paper,’” he said. “I’m like, ‘OK, where’s the parchment paper?’”
The Duke of Sussex also said he and Meghan do not have to worry about prying eyes as much since they left the British royal family and moved to California.
“Living here now, I can actually, like, lift my head, and actually, I feel different. My shoulders have dropped, so have hers. And I can walk around feeling a little bit more free,” he said.

Prince Harry’s “Armchair Expert” appearance becomes his first major interview since his and Meghan’s tell-all with Oprah Winfrey, which aired in March. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expecting their second child, a girl soon.
