According to a new Oxford Royale study, Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, is the “most intelligent member of the British royal family.”
The education firm examined the academic credentials of the blue-blooded family members, including their high school grades and college rankings.
As part of their analysis, Oxford Royale used the QS World University Rankings, which ranks colleges based on their academic reputation and faculty-to-student ratio.

Meghan, 40, took first place because she graduated from the prestigious Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
The Duchess graduated from the prestigious college with a double degree in theatre and international relations, which is ranked 30th in the QS World Rankings for 2021.
A spokesperson for Oxford Royale commented on the findings, “Life as a royal isn’t always an easy job and involves a lot of dealing with extensive scrutiny and life in the public spotlight, and Meghan Markle’s academic strengths have equipped her perfectly for this role.
“While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have resigned from their roles as working royals, they have captured the interest and attention of the world, and Meghan’s desire to use her platform to raise awareness over serious world issues reflects her intelligence, analytical mind and educational pedigree.”
Meanwhile, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, was named by the study as the second most intelligent royal.
Kate Middleton, 39, went to private Marlborough College in Wiltshire, England, where she graduated with three A-levels in her final year. She received A’s in math and art, as well as a B in English.
A-levels are subjects studied by British students in their final two years of high school and are required for college admission. The higher a student’s A-level score, the more likely he or she will be admitted to an elite university.
She went on to study at the University of St. Andrews, which is ranked 91st in the world by QS.
Prince William, who also attended St. Andrews, was named the third most intelligent royal. Kate, on the other hand, was thought to be smarter than the future king because she outperformed him in the A-level exams.
During his senior year of high school, William received an A in geography, a B in art, and a C in biology.
Prince Harry, William’s brother, did not even make the top ten list compiled by Oxford Royale. In high school, the renegade royal only received two A-levels, a B in art and a D in geography. He did not go to college.
In the meantime, several of Prince William and Prince Harry’s famous cousins made the top ten list, like Princess Eugenie who ranked fourth, while her sister Princess Beatrice was ranked tenth. The Queen’s other grandchildren, Peter Phillips and Zara Phillips, were ranked fifth and sixth, respectively.
