Cardi B may be known for her brazen lyrics, but the rapper said she’s so shy that she can’t bring herself to ask male rappers to collaborate with her in a song.
Cardi said this in a new Billboard interview, “The thing is, I’m shy and really shy to reach out to male artists, to be honest with you. That’s why a lot of collabs that I want, I haven’t gotten yet because I’m scared to reach out. I always get a little star-struck. I’ll be thinking I’m corny, even though I’m funny.”

Cardi who won the current Billboard Woman of the Year award and the youngest female rapper to receive the accolade also revealed that her bashfulness gets in the way of recording romantic songs.
“When it comes to me writing or putting ideas of my personal life in the music I get really shy. When I perform songs like ‘Be Careful’ or ‘Ring’ I usually close my eyes because I get really shy about showing that lovey-dovey side. Even to my engineer, I start giggling… like, ‘Oh my God, I can’t. This is so embarrassing,’” she said in the Billboard cover story.
Cardi is also known for her open Instagram Live clips that speak volume of her on-and-off relationship with her husband Offset. She told fans when they reconciled earlier this year, after she’d filed for divorce, “Listen y’all, I’m just a crazy bitch… It’s really hard not to talk to your best friend. And it’s really hard to have no d–k”.
