Ukraine War Update – A series of Russian drone strikes hit the southeastern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia overnight, causing widespread destruction and casualties.
According to local officials, Russian forces launched at least 10 attacks on the city, damaging apartment buildings, private homes, schools, and other non-residential structures.

One person was confirmed dead, while 29 others were injured—among them, a child—said regional governor Ivan Fedorov. “Three people were rescued from the rubble and 12 people were being treated in the hospital,” he reported.

Images from the scene reveal the full scale of the destruction, showing charred buildings, collapsed roofs, and emergency crews working amid the wreckage.
Ukraine Fends Off Massive Overnight Drone Assault
Ukraine’s air force reported a large-scale drone assault across the country, with Russia launching a staggering 150 drones overnight. Air defence units managed to shoot down 64 of them, while another 62 drones failed to reach their targets, likely due to electronic warfare tactics.

It remains unclear what became of the remaining 24 drones, raising concerns about potential undiscovered damage or delayed attacks.
U.S. Warns of Stalemate as Peace Talks Stall
As the fighting intensifies, U.S. officials are sounding the alarm over the prolonged nature of the conflict. U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance expressed deep concern over the lack of progress in peace negotiations.

“This war is not going to end any time soon,” Vance said, warning that the United States may reconsider its involvement in ongoing peace talks if no diplomatic breakthrough is achieved.
