According to reports, former President Donald Trump had a successful day in court on Friday, with one lawsuit against him being withdrawn by the complainant and another being dismissed by a judge.

Summer Zervos, a former “Apprentice” contestant, settled her 2017 lawsuit against Trump in which she accused the show’s former host of sexually assaulting her.

In the second case, a New York state judge dismissed a 2019 lawsuit filed by former Trump attorney Michael Cohen, who sought $1.9 million in legal fees from Trump.

The reason for Zervos’ action was unclear, but her lawyers issued a statement to that effect, according to Reuters.

“Ms Zervos no longer wishes to litigate against the defendant and has secured the right to speak freely about her experience,” lawyers Beth Wilkinson and Moira Penza said Friday, according to reports.

If the lawsuit had gone forward, the former U.S leader would have faced a Dec. 23 deadline to appear for a court-ordered deposition in the case, according to Reuters. However, Zervos’ withdrawal of the lawsuit relieves Trump of that obligation.

According to the report, the former president claimed in a statement that the end of the lawsuit meant he was “totally vindicated” in the case.

“It is so sad when things like this can happen, but so incredibly important to fight for the truth and justice. Only victory can restore one’s reputation,” Trump said.

Alina Habba, a Trump’s lawyer, stated that Zervos received no monetary compensation or attorney’s fees for settling the lawsuit. “She had no choice but to do so as the facts unearthed in this matter made it abundantly clear that our client did nothing wrong,” Habba said.

In 2005, Zervos appeared on “The Apprentice” alongside Trump. In her 2017 lawsuit, she claimed that she sought career advice from the 45th president of the United States in 2007 but was subjected to unwanted kissing and groping during their meeting in Los Angeles. Following that, Trump retweeted a tweet that called her claims a “hoax.”

Trump has claimed that Zervos’ allegations of misconduct were motivated by politics. According to the report, her lawsuit was delayed while Trump was president, from 2017 to 2021, because he argued that a sitting president could not be sued.

Judge Joel M. Cohen ruled in the Cohen case that lawyer Michael Cohen’s lawsuit relied heavily on oral agreements he had made with the former president that was nullified by written agreements.

And that the majority of Cohen’s legal bills were linked to Trump himself Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign or the now-defunct Trump Foundation, but none were linked to the Trump Organization, which was the only defendant named in the suit, according to The Washington Post.

“Mr (Michael) Cohen’s attempts at self-enrichment … once again failed,” Kimberly Benza, a spokeswoman for the Trump Organization, said.
