R. Kelly case seems to be getting deeper as one of his pals has pleaded guilty on Tuesday to attempting to bribe one of the singer’s accusers not to come forward as a witness by offering her $500 000.
Richard Arline Jr. who’s 31-year-old admitted during a virtual hearing in Brooklyn federal court, “Me and another person offered Jane Doe money for her to not go forward with her complaint or testimony against Robert Kelly. I knew what I did was wrong.”
After the R&B singer was slammed with a racketeering and sex trafficking indictment in Brooklyn, an undisclosed co-conspirator reportedly sent a text message to the accuser saying, “Rob is trying to get his cousin rich in contact with you because he wants to pay you for silence.”
Then, on May 26, last year phone call, Arline made an offer to pay the woman $500,000 and claimed that R. Kelly had authorized the payment, unbeknownst to him, the feds were listening in on the call.
Should Arline be convicted on the bribery crime, he will face up to 15 years in jail.
Arline was charged in 2020 alongside Donnell Russell and Michael Wilson. They were accused of trying to harass, intimidate, threaten or corruptly influence other accusers in the singer matter.

However, the Grammy Award winner is facing a separate indictment in Chicago. In the suit, he’s being charged with producing child pornography and destroying evidence leading to the crime.
