Prince Harry quipped to Jelly Roll that he’d get a tattoo on his lower back or “ass” if the country singer performed at the upcoming Invictus Games. The Duke of Sussex has a clear idea of where he’d like his first tattoo.
In a light-hearted exchange, Harry told Jelly Roll—who’s covered in tattoos—that if he ever started a body art collection, the first design would likely be on his backside so “no one is going to see it.”
However, in a recent comedy skit promoting the Invictus Games, the country star chose to give Harry a faux tattoo on his neck instead.

“Do you know I could not believe it when they called me and told me Prince Harry wanted to get a tattoo today? They wanted me to give him his first tattoo? This is the coolest thing ever!

“We’re giving you a tattoo about the Invictus Games,” Jelly Roll, real name Jason DeFord said in a previous video.
Prince Harry Clarifies His Intentions
However, Harry clarified that his meeting with the “Need a Favor” singer was not to discuss getting a tattoo of the Invictus Games, which he co-founded in 2014, but rather to see if he could perform at the event.
Jelly Roll negotiated, prompting Harry to joke back, “I’ll play the Invictus Games, you just let me give you your first tattoo. Alright, screw it, let’s go.”
Prince Harry added, “I was thinking the lower back or on my ass.”
But Jelly Roll wasn’t satisfied with the proposed location. As he said with a laugh, “Nobody wants to see your ass, Harry!”

And when he started inking Harry’s neck, Harry said, “Yeah, I should’ve had it on my ass.”
Later, Harry got a temporary design of the Invictus Games’ “I Am” logo—along with an additional surprise.
“Is that your name? Does that say Jelly Roll? You put your name on my neck?” Harry asked, with Jelly Roll joking that he went big with the font because the “Invictus Games are enormous.”
Prince Harry added, “Oh, s–t!”

The 2025 Invictus Games are set to take place in Vancouver, Canada, a city where Harry and Meghan Markle lived for a short period before stepping down from their roles as senior royals in 2020.
“As Invictus continues to adapt and evolve, I am extremely excited to announce that the Invictus Games Foundation has selected Canada to host the first-ever Winter Hybrid Games in 2025,” Harry said.
He added, “With deep respect, I’m also pleased to share that the Games in Canada will be held in partnership with the First Nations, in the spirit of truth and reconciliation with Indigenous communities.”
