The President of the Republicans, Éric Ciotti, made a passionate appeal to right-wing voters during his party’s first major campaign meeting on March 23.

Speaking in front of approximately 3,000 activists at the Docks de Paris in Aubervilliers, Ciotti urged those who had distanced themselves from the party since 2017 to “return to their political family” for the upcoming European elections.

Addressing the crowd, Ciotti emphasized the importance of returning to the core values and principles that define the right-wing movement. He called on voters to come together for the sake of France, regardless of the different paths they may have taken.

Ciotti’s message was clear: it is time to reunite and strengthen the right-wing movement. During his speech, Ciotti did not shy away from criticizing President Emmanuel Macron and his administration.

He referred to Macron as “the man who was worth a thousand billion euros in debt” and criticized his handling of the Ukraine crisis. Mocking recent photos released by the Élysée, Ciotti stated, “We don’t improvise as a war leader, with boxing gloves.”

Other speakers at the event also aimed at Macron and his government. Céline Imart, the number two on the Republicans’ list, referred to Macron as a “specialist in big smoke” and questioned what his legacy would be after his two terms in office.

François-Xavier Bellamy, the head of the list, mocked Macron as the “Mozart of finance” and criticized his Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, for allegedly discovering his role every morning.

In addition to criticizing Macron, Ciotti and other speakers did not spare the National Rally, highlighting the difficult position of the Republicans and the shrinking of their political space.

Éric Ciotti warned against those who would exacerbate the financial collapse and budgetary chaos with an economic program that prioritizes welfare.
