Caitlyn Jenner Told Kardashian/Jenner Kids To ‘Stay Out’ Of Gubernatorial Race

“I told my kids, when you do something like this it’s not just me making decisions. Obviously, I come first on the decision-making but then really the influencing and I don’t know if you know, but I have a very high-profile family,”

Caitlyn Jenner is gearing up for a gubernatorial run in California without the help of her famous Kardashian/Jenner family. The former Olympian told Californian Rebel Base podcast cohost Steve Hilton that “not even their cash is needed.”

Speaking about family and her political ambitions, the California gubernatorial candidate said she wouldn’t want her position as a Republican to harm any of the Kardashian/Jenner brands, which would be a likely outcome if her children publicly endorsed her race.

“I called up each one of them and said, ‘Hey, this is what I’m looking to do,’ and I said, ‘I want you guys out of it,’” Jenner explained according to The Daily Mail report.

“I told my kids, when you do something like this it’s not just me making decisions. Obviously, I come first on the decision-making but then really the influencing and I don’t know if you know, but I have a very high-profile family,” she added.

She also stated that, while private assistance is always appreciated, she will not seek favours from her high-profile children.

“You know, politics can be a dirty business and they have brands, they have all the other things that they’re doing, they have companies that they’re doing. I told them I don’t want you involved, I don’t want one dime, I don’t want one tweet, one Instagram post. I said ‘just stay out of it,” Jenner said.

It makes more sense now why Caitlyn’s 38-year-old son Brody Jenner has reportedly been “avoiding” questions about Caitlyn’s political movement during interviews.

It was also reported in April that Caitlyn did not expect her children to campaign for her because of their (socially) liberal beliefs and her previous opposition to gay marriage.

Caitlyn’s step-daughter Kim Kardashian, on the other hand, would be the only exception due to her prior experience in criminal justice reform, according to Caitlyn.

“Obviously Kim is the only one because of her work on criminal justice reform, and obviously, we’ve talked about that, you know. We’ve talked about it but I really didn’t want her involved in this campaign whatsoever.

“But, you know, as far as criminal justice reform, which I think is very important in California, she does have my cell phone number,” Caitlyn Jenner added.

Caitlyn Jenner is running to replace California Governor Gavin Newsom, who is facing a recall election, and will have to beat out the race’s frontrunner, talk show host Larry Elder.
