Amélie de Montchalin, Minister of Transformation and Civil Service, wanted to spend the holidays with her family. Her trip, however, drew special attention following the publication of a tweet claiming that she had been disembarked from the plane due to a lack of Covid-19 vaccination. An incorrect information section refers to CheckNews’ Friday, December 24.

It all started with a tweet from Jacques Clostermann, a former pilot who was close to the National Front at the time. He claims that Amélie de Montchalin has kicked off a plane bound for Geneva because she couldn’t “prove proof of a vaccination.”
Gilbert Collard, RN MEP and staunch opponent of the health pass, relayed the message on December 23. “If this is true, it’s about time we landed them all,” he laughs.

Except that’s not entirely correct. Amélie de Montchalin has been vaccinated with two doses of Pfizer, according to Liberation, but she is not yet eligible for the third dose.
However, he lacked a negative test, which Geneva requires in addition to a vaccination certificate. So, was she or wasn’t she kicked off the plane due to a lack of testing?
When contacted by Liberation’s information verification service, his cabinet confirmed that the minister had intended to fly to Geneva and then to Haute-Savoie. However, the details of his landing remained a mystery.
The cabinet initially stated that the minister never boarded the plane and obviously did not disembark. Then, everything that happened between the boarding gate and the plane door before boarding ended.
Because her cabinet’s responses were ambiguous, the minister finally chose to speak for herself regarding the matter.
“I went to the boarding gate, where I was told I needed a test. I said I didn’t have one. The station manager told me that I could still get on. A few minutes later, the skipper did ask me for a test. So I got off the plane, before boarding was over, to go for a test, ”she told CheckNews.

She claims to have “scrupulously followed the instructions and to have never asked for anything. And so, as usual, I conducted a test,” she concludes.
However, this version may cause some internal conflict at Air France. According to the company that chartered the flight to Geneva, all checks were performed at the boarding gate. Amélie de Montchalin should never have been allowed to board the plane, according to this rule.
