According to The Daily Mail, in a new BBC documentary, Prince Charles revealed exactly what he said to his late father, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh shortly before he passed away in April this year.

Charles said that one day before Philip’s death, he and the longest-serving royal consort in British history discussed his 100th birthday plans, much to the chagrin of the Duke of Edinburgh.

“We’re talking about your birthday,” Prince Charles claims to have told his father in “Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers.” a documentary recorded by the BBC in honour of the Duke of Edinburg.

“Well, I’ve got to be alive for it, haven’t I?” Prince Philip responded, and the heir apparent to the British throne said, “I knew you’d say that!” And Prince Philip died the following day at 99-year-old.

Following his death, Buckingham Palace took to Twitter and wrote, “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.”

Prince Harry was also interviewed by the BBC for the documentary. He told the crew that his grandfather was “always unapologetically him,” while praising the Duke of Edinburgh for his support for his wife, Queen Elizabeth II.

Another royal that was interviewed is granddaughter Zara Tindall who added that towards the end, Prince Phillip knew he was getting older and he absolutely hated it, “He was the worst patient in the world! But, actually, you never really prepare yourself for losing him because he was always there.”
