“Your honour, I plead guilty,” Wayne, 38, told U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams during an online hearing in Miami federal court, according to The Miami Herald report.
The incident took place last December when federal agents found a gold-plated pistol with a pearl grip inside Wayne’s private plane and some drugs inside a Coach bag at a Miami airport.
Lil Wayne wasn’t arrested at the time but was later charged with one count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon.
Lil Wayne could be sentenced for up to 10 years in prison since he is a convicted felon.
Back in 2009, the “Lollipop” hitmaker also pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon in New York and served a year behind bars for the crime.
A sentencing hearing has been scheduled to take place on January 28 in front of Judge Williams.
