The belief of those opposing the law that Christophe Castaner’s promise to “completely rewrite” Article 24 in question has turned out to be a manoeuvre to gain time in the face of growing anger.

There’s no question for the majority if they withdraw or suspend the article, according to  Christophe Castaner in whose place it is “to extinguish the doubts” around this text penalizing the malicious distribution of images of police forces.

This is all the criticism made by the left to the majority. “Enough procrastination”, like Jean-Luc Mélenchon launched on social media when his colleague Insoumise Mathilde Panot demanded “the withdrawal of the global security law.”

“By wanting to rewrite this article rather than withdrawing it, I consider that the government and this majority are stubborn,” said the member for Val-de-Marne on BFMTV a few seconds after the end of Christophe Castaner’s intervention.
