Billie Eilish’s dramatic blond hair transformation stunned fans last March, but she has managed to keep another major mane change hidden.
While the 20-year-old “Bad Guy” singer wore a wig for weeks to keep her devoted detectives guessing as she transitioned her black-and-green mullet to platinum ‘do, she had a little fun before going brunette at the end of the year.

Eilish revealed on her Instagram Story on Monday that she “took the blonde [sic] out and went red for a week” in November — without anyone knowing.
Eilish’s previous blond bob marked the beginning of her “Happier Than Ever” era. Following the reveal of her new look, the singer revealed that she hid the transformation for a whopping six weeks by wearing a Halloween hairpiece.
“I knew that it would have these processing periods where it would look insane, and I didn’t want to look insane. But I needed something quick, so I literally ordered a Billie Eilish Halloween costume wig on Amazon,” she told Stephen Colbert.

“I couldn’t go anywhere with that hair because it was so obviously me,” Eilish said of saying goodbye to her once-signature neon roots. “I desired anonymity.”
With a hair history ranging from gray to blue, it’d be no surprise if Eilish stuck with the red for a longer period of time — though she might be completely unrecognizable by then.
