Princess Diana’s wedding tiara will be featured in a new exhibition of royal and aristocratic jewels at Sotheby’s in London, marking the first time the historic piece has been displayed since the 1960s.

The exhibit, which runs from May 28 to June 15, will include a variety of royal bling, including the Spencer Tiara, which Diana famously wore during her July 29, 1981 wedding to Prince Charles.

The Spencer Tiara will be part of a special exhibition at Sotheby’s in London to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The Spencer Tiara was loaned to Sotheby’s by Diana’s brother, Earl Spencer, who famously spoke out about the royal’s treatment by the press at her funeral.

While many expected his daughter, Lady Kitty Spencer, to wear the tiara on her wedding day in 2021, she chose not to.

Visitors to Sotheby’s will be able to see one of Queen Victoria’s favourite sparklers, which features a whopper of a 15-carat emerald at its centre, in addition to Princess Diana’s tiara.

The emerald and diamond piece was designed by her husband, Prince Albert, in 1845 and “is widely regarded as one of the most elegant and sumptuous coloured gemstone tiaras ever created anywhere in the world,” according to the auction house.
