Prince William and Kate Middleton marked the 7th birthday of their daughter Princess Charlotte by sharing new portraits of the young royal, who is a spitting image of her father.
Charlotte can be seen smiling next to the family’s black cocker spaniel puppy, Orla, in a rare photo taken by her mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, and posted to Instagram on Sunday while they were in Norfolk, England.

Charlotte poses alone in the grass, surrounded by beautiful purple flowers, in another photo. Her big grin reveals that she is missing a tooth as she wears a blue cable-knit sweater over a spotted collared shirt.
“Thank you for all the lovely messages on Princess Charlotte’s seventh birthday!” William and Middleton captioned their post on Monday.

Several fans of the family flooded the comments section to celebrate Charlotte’s special day, with many pointing out that she resembles the Duke of Cambridge.
“She looks soo like William!!” one person commented.
“I usually think she looks like The Queen but in this first one she resembles her dad,” a second Instagram user agreed.
“She is the double of William. Happy birthday ,” a third chimed in.
“William’s mini me ,” another wrote.

,” one more added.
William, 39, and Middleton, 40, tied the knot in 2011 and share three children: Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, 4.

Charlotte is the fourth member of her family in line to succeed to the British throne, following her grandfather Prince Charles, father William, and brother George.
Her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, is Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, having turned 96 last month.
