Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton attended a military parade on their final day in Jamaica today, and Kate Middleton’s stunning white lace gown evoked vintage memories of Her Majesty.
As Royal Wikipedia pointed out on Twitter, the short-sleeved Alexander McQueen gown is strikingly similar to one worn by Queen Elizabeth II at a garden party in Australia sometime in 1954.

The Queen wore a demure, below-the-knee frock with a square neck and a ribbon waist, and she accessorized with a wide floral-trimmed hat by Philip Treacy and white pumps as well.
Meanwhile, Kate wore an outfit that did not only honoured her grandmother-in-law but also included a sentimental touch: Princess Diana’s pearl bracelet and diamond-and-pearl earrings, which she borrowed from the Queen.
The mother of three completed her glamourous look with the Anya Hindmarch “Maud” pearl-embellished clutch ($525).
As for Prince William, he looked dashing in the Jamaica Defence Force Commissioning Parade, dressed in the Tropical Dress of the Blues and Royals.
The Duchess looked on proudly as her husband took part in the event honouring newly commissioned officers.
In another touching moment, the couple drove away from the parade in an open-top Land Rover, just as Prince William’s grandparents did in 1953 when they visited Jamaica as part of their Commonwealth tour.
According to a video shared by Daily Express reporter Richard Palmer, the couple was driven from the parade grounds in the vintage vehicle that the Queen and Prince Philip used during their 1962 visit to Jamaica.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Middleton has donned an Alexander McQueen white lace gown.
