Britney Spears is gradually returning to music after being released from her conservatory. The pop star flaunted her vocals and teased a new song in an Instagram post on Wednesday, where she — once again — chastised her family.
“Just realized this today guys … after what my family tried to do to me three years ago … I needed to be my own cheerleader

Britney Spears, 40, told fans she’s “not auditioning for anything,” but she did want to “remind my white ‘classy’ family that I haven’t forgotten what they did to me, nor will I ever forget!!!!”
The singer also revealed that she is working on a “new song,” but gave no further details.

Spears’ most recent album, “Glory,” was released in 2016.
According to a source, Spears is “excited” to start making music again, but returning to the industry after a nearly three-year “work hiatus” is not her “top priority.”
In Wednesday’s social media post, Spears also detailed some of her many career accomplishments, including being “one of the most successful and celebrated entertainers in pop history with nearly 100 million records sold worldwide.”

In September, the “Toxic” singer was released from a conservatorship, which she was placed under in 2008.
Jamie Spears, her estranged father, who once controlled most aspects of her life under the restrictive legal ruling, filed court documents earlier this month to have the musician’s estate continue paying his legal fees.

Britney has spoken openly about her family’s involvement in the conservatorship, even claiming they deserve to be imprisoned for their role. She also vowed in November 2020, through her lawyer, that she would “not perform” as long as Jamie was in charge of her career.
In addition to considering a return to the music industry, the “Gimme More” singer hopes to expand her family with fiancé Sam Asghari now that she is a free woman.
