Stand-up comedian and actress Amy Schumer hasn’t been afraid to keep fans in the loop with her health struggles over the years, she is now revealing endometriosis has taken such a toll on her body, she’s had to have her uterus and appendix removed via surgery.
The comedian posted on social media a series of photos and videos showing herself in the hospital while talking about her surgery. Schumer says doctors found 30 spots of endometriosis on her uterus, and there was a lot of blood inside it as well which affected her uterus and appendix.

The Actress captioned the post, “If you have really painful periods you may have #endometriosis.” Her comment section was filled with well-wishes and those thankful she shared her experience in the hopes of helping someone in the future. The 40-year-old also thanked her doctors who took care of her at the hospital.
Amy Schumer, who has a 2-year-old son named Gene with husband Chris Fischer was candid with her health issues during her pregnancy in 2018. At one point, she had to cancel shows after she was hospitalized. Schumer has always been open about her endometriosis pain and fertility and recently discussed the challenges of trying to have a second child.

She and Fischer welcomed son Gene David in 2019.”We did IVF, and IVF was really tough on me,” Schumer told Sunday Today with Willie Geist last year. “I don’t think I could ever do IVF again. I decided that I can’t be pregnant ever again. We thought about a surrogate, but I think we’re going to hold off for right now.”
