Jennifer Lopez is said to be working on musical projects for TV and film with Oracle scion and Hollywood producer David Ellison’s production company, Skydance.
The musicals will be based on the library of Concord Theatricals, which includes the Rodgers & Hammerstein catalogue.

Among the famous musicals written by Rodgers and Hammerstein are “Carousel,” “South Pacific,” “The King & I,” “The Sound of Music,” “Cinderella,” and “Oklahoma!”
Jennifer’s Nuyorican Productions will collaborate with Skydance on the projects, and J.Lo will appear in at least one of them, according to Variety.
“Musicals were a part of the tapestry of my childhood,” Jennifer, 51, said in a statement. We’re thrilled to be collaborating with Skydance and Concord on reimagining some of the most beloved musicals and bringing them to life in new ways for a new generation.”
Skydance already had a deal with Concord and has been working on a modern-day TV series adaptation of “Oklahoma!” from “The Blind Side” director John Lee Hancock and “This Is Us” writer Bekah Brunstetter.
The musical projects will be executive-produced by Jennifer’s producing partners Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina. Ellison is the producer of Tom Cruise’s upcoming films “Top Gun: Maverick,” “Mission: Impossible 8,” and “Terminator: Dark Fate.”
Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, 48, were spending the Fourth of July weekend together in the Hamptons. The couple has not publicly commented on their relationship, but Lopez recently stated, “I’ve never been better.”
She also recently “liked” a photo of Affleck on the set of his 2010 heist film “The Town” on a Bennifer fan account.
We can only hope that she casts Ben as her co-star in one of these musical projects. It could be their first musical collaboration since he appeared in her “Jenny From the Block” video.
