Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. Kamala Harris said during an interview that any indictments against Donald Trump will not be at the order of Joe Biden, if he eventually becomes president of the United States.
Sen. Harris said this while with the hosts of “The View” on Monday that, if elected, she and Biden are determined to give the attorneys at the Department of Justice the independence to pursue legal cases that has been missing during the present administration.
Harris also said if she were president, she would have pursued criminal charges against President Trump for obstruction of justice. But, however, noted that she would defer to Biden on this matter.
The vice presidential nominee also promised that she and Biden would not use the Department Of Justice to hunt down opponents.
“We will not have a Department of Justice that conducts itself as the personal lawyer of the president, such as the way that Donald Trump has done. And whoever leads the Department of Justice if we win is someone who will be independent,” she said
